Guidelines.
1. Avoid caffeine like the plague. Almost anyone that is an advocate of coffee is addicted to it.
2. Avoid processed sugars.
3. No more than two 12oz beers a day.
4. Rhythm: wake up at the same time every day, run at the same times every day, eat at the same time every day, go to sleep at the same time every day, etc. Be as predictable as the celestial bodies and you'll develop extraordinary power.
5. Don't eat until your full. Don't fall into the trap that runners can eat tons of junk, otherwise you are going to carry 5-10 lbs of dead weight. You'll still look very thin and pretty lean, but that's about 30-75 seconds slower you'll run a 10K.
6. Close your eyes and lie down for 15 minutes once every 4 hours during the day.
7. Weights: Lift heavy after you've lifted light and have the movement down. For every 5 minutes of lifting, run 5 minutes before lifting again. Don't get sore from lifting.
