If you've had good results with what you're doing, probably you should keep doing it. If you want to add in "tempos", then you should read the "summer of malmo" articles.
I've read SOM, and know from experience that its not ideal training for me.
But I am tempted to just keep doing what I'm doing cuz it works, but its always weird hearing everyone does tempos in base but I don't so I always think to myself "could I be training better? What I'm doing works, but could those tempos in base work better?"
