You do not understand constructivism. You don't understand learner choice, personal autonomy, and encouraging reflection on the how the real world works.
What you suggest is pure fantasy. Please feel free to start you own forum. You can be the controller; allow in who you like, ban the naughty trolls, and edit posts to suit you personal needs. Good luck with that. Creating your own forum will allow you to reflect on the how the real world works.
All of which are creative and colorful terms to justify bad behavioral choices right? The hippies were so reflective as they fried their brains.Criminals don't need prison; they need rehab. All of which allows for disobedience of rules of civility. No thank you.The real world can be better.Mike

Actually Robs HS grades are not the first thing that come up, I just tried and had my roommate try. Try again buddy. I believe Milesplit is meant for high school athletes, so high school geared questions are appropriate of not the goal.
I am glad your chief goal in life is to hide behind a screen name and troll let's run, looks like Rob is doing more than you judging from his Linked In profile.
...dude you are a tool, hey aren't on the first few pages. Wow...I think we need to send you back to elementary since you obviously can't count to four, hits or pages.

You don't understand the real world. Your real world is filled with clones of yourself. Unfortunately, for you, that real world will fail.
-1/10 for pretending you know anything about the real world.

I didn't disclose exactly what search term I used, now, did I? Looks like (surprise, surprise) I'm a lot smarter than you.

In English, please.

Actually, no, I can't say that's even close to the top of my goals list. And I'm glad for Rob, although unless you're looking at my (nonexistent) LinkedIn profile as well, I don't know how you can judge whether he or anyone is "doing more than" me.
Oh so you troll letsrun and figure out search terms to yield desired results to bash other people instead of work on a productive career, or at least instead of building up yourself. If tearing other people down is your goal....I repeat my screen name at you.
Never heard of this fellow.

Actually, no. I was just curious about the guy. That's no longer the case.
8.84/10, by the way
Tearing people apart is something that occurs only in your brain. You are guilty of being a little boy hiding behind a kiddie posting name.
Please join the other purists and start your own running-only forum. You can guys can make it invitation only, allow only happy-joy comments to be made about anyone regardless of whether they are runners or even a lowly hobby-jogger. Oh, I assume hobby-joggers will be allow in because they need the support of experts to help them become the best people they can be.
:)
I'm confused here. Are you seriously telling people who want this as a running forum to move it aside for your (and others') fits of angst??Is that really what befits a forum called "Let's Run"Um...aren't we runners?

I'm confused here. Are you seriously telling people who want this as an open forum to move it aside for your [Mike R] (and others') fits of angst??
Um...most runners are not so absorbed in running that they can think of nothing else...

This has all been hashed over many times here on LRMB in various threads over the years.
Rojo once wrote that he saw the MB as somewhere where things could be discussed that one could expect would be discussed in a running group training run. This has been my experience, different running groups, different discussions.
As I see it you have a couple of alternatives, be selective about what you read on LRMB, start your own site/forum/blog, go to Runners World forum, etc, etc, but please, stop coming on here whining, it's a worse trait than those people you complain about.
If that was the intent, and this is what is perpetuated, then what you're telling me is that:1> Many runners in training groups have foul mouths.2> The overall composure of runner behavior has diminished. What I find interesting is that runners and running used to have the respect of many circles around the world. We were the environmentalists, the gentlemen, the people who were not encapsulated in the "hubba-hubba" hubbub of other sports. If someone were to come in blindly and read this, they would think that many runners were deplorable in their attitudes.I find it even more interesting that you use the term "whining" in ascertaining my concerns of conscience with this site. This is not, and has never been about what I, myself, wish to read, see, or encounter. This is about preserving integrity. Yes, runners used to have that. Some still do, but it's dwindling.Furthermore, it is not your task, nor is it anyone's task to tell me not to come here. You have an equal chance to ignore me, if you think what I am writing is mindless drivel. But you and others won't and you want me to shut up and leave because I make you think. You'd rather wallow in behaviors that would make nobody proud. Ergo, as I see it, *you* have a couple of alternatives: You can ignore me, or you can read right past my comments. As you can misbehave and/or advocate misbehavior, I can equally address its lack of worth on this matrix. That's how it works.Mike

"1> Many runners in training groups have foul mouths."
Yes. I guess you missed the bit about 'different running groups, different discussions'.
"2> The overall composure of runner behavior has diminished."
No. And I've been running in them for nearly 50 years.
"Furthermore, it is not your task, nor is it anyone's task to tell me not to come here."
No one's telling you not come here, just don't come here continually whining about the same thing, we've heard you loud and clear.
"Ergo, as I see it, *you* have a couple of alternatives: You can ignore me..."
Ergo, as I see it, you're right, so from here on in I think I'll take your advice. Over and out.
