Where the hell can you find them? I had a Coach in High School who qualified for the trials in 1980 and I wanted to look up the results. Anyone know where I can find them?

Bump
I too would like to know!
I have the top 50 results here... who ya looking for?
I would also be interested in the track results from previous trials, particularly the 10 in 1976. I know that Shorter, Bjorkland and Rogers were 1, 3 and 4. anyone have deeper results, say top 10 or so?
thanks

You'll listen to music from a guy named Jeffrey Hyman, won't you?
I thought that it was interesting that in the marathon that only 3 athletes have broken 2:11 (and that was the year that we boycotted) and only 9 have broken 2:12, which is the current olympic a standard.
I also found it interesting that Salazar never won an Oly trials race and that 28:10-2:11:44 are his trials PR's.
Thanks for the results malmo. I was specifically trying to find the results for the 1980 trials. My coach ran the 1500 meter I believe. I have searched USATF and other running pages but still have no luck. Maybe they did not post the previous stuff that happened before the internet boom.

beenthere, thanks for the results. if you have more than the 1500m, could you e-mail them to me? i was wanting to look through all the distance results. also, do you have the 1984 results. thanks again and my e-mail is childressjl@hotmail.com
Amazing the '80 results in all events including the marathon when everybody knew we weren't going to the Games! Perhaps the athletes ran w/a bit more abandon and passion because of this. There were some impressive names that didn't make the '80 1500m final: Mark Belger and Len Hilton. Todd Harbour still holds the American collegiate mile record I think.
I'm curious to know if this meet was televised? Probably not but if so I'd love to see a copy.
I don't care how many houses Jimmy Carter built for the poor he's got to be the worst president in my lifetime.( George Herbert Walker Bush not far behind).
And not just for the boycott but for aggravating a condition of wefare dependency through his domestic programs.
I will give him some credit for the concern for middle east turmoil. At least he tried.
Malmo
Great results, can you ore anyone get me deeper 10K results from 1976? I see the top 4 in that list.
Thanks

Heck of an effort by Bjorklund. Only ran with one shoe most of the race.
How about the 5000m results from the 1980 trials. I would love to see those as well. Thanks
if memory serves me Mendoza was still in HS and ended up running in Montreal as 2 of the guys ahead of him didnt run.
Fortunately for Garry, Rodgers stoppped to retie his shoe laces three times....
If Mendoza was still in high school then theres is a logical explanation why he doesn't have the HS 10k record: he was 22 years old in 1976.
