How long until the gouchers start running a Ponzi scheme?
That sauce they were on at NOPe must have really scrambled their teeny-tiny brains.

Weak bronze in the 2007 WC with a weak (non-Olympic) field.
You can add all of the condescending adjectives that you want, but how many U.S. athletes have earned a medal in the 5k, 10k, or marathon at the WC/Olympics within the past decade? It's a fairly safe bet that you aren't one of them.

The facts are there as the Olympics don't lie...she was 10th with a PR!
And from the "glass half full" side of the house, her effort remains the fasted 10th-place finish during a women's 10,000m in the history of the sport.

I can't read through every post- I would throw up. Here it is- she's run at a very high level- Olympics, Worlds, Big City Marathons. She's popular- people love her, she helps make the sport popular among the masses.
I work with a beginner's Running Group- women in that group look up to her.
You know what? That's good for running.
All you young guys- I remember when you had to travel just to find a road race to run or an all-comers meet to compete in.
You heard about them through word of mouth (hopefully).
These hobby joggers (who look up to Kara) are the ones who make it possible to have a race on a certified course more than once a weekend.
What is your problem with successful runners?
I think some of the problem is that while she is successful, she had Adam essentially supporting her (not financially but in other ways) so she was able to achieve her goals.
Women tend to forget about the men/other people who help them achieve their goals. There is nothing about female empowerment about that.
Wait, wait. Wasn't she yakking that this year was all about running sub 15 and breaking doper paula's 2:15? How did that devolve into empowering unemployed pilates mommies?
How are those pilates mommies unempowered? They have the best jobs - leeching on society. Live in McMansions. Drive Escalades. Have servants do all the chores.
What? Are they traumatized because they don't have a Range Rover? Because they are soon to be dumped for 20 year old hotties?

Weak I bet it's a fairly safe bet that you weren't one of them either WEAK 10,000 field, twist it anyway you want, but the poster is correct. Sounds like you have a thing for Adam, right bro? Sounds like you've got some psychological problems of your own He who protests too much

Thanks for posting Adam, we appreciate your input.
By the way Adam, every x amount of years times are suppose to get faster...it's called evolving (google will help with the definition). Her 10th place shows that she's not even in the ballpark, but nice try with the "glass half full" theory. Stupid Post of the Year goes to Added (Adam) Perspective
Welcome to the party pal - nice sock puppet post
Sock puppet? The pot calling the kettle black. Qualls is my handle numbnuts! You're the same poster, right Adam, err....Bill Horton, aka sock puppet master.

Many men tend to do the same. Sports and self absorption are often related.
The biggest problem is that women are conditioned from a very young age to believe that being a mother is the "highest level" they can reach. Everything else....school, work, etc. is merely time wasting until their REAL duties begin: motherhood.
The amount of pressure and guilt a woman in her 30s feels, especially when they are "professionals" at something, is intense.
Isn't Jen Rhines still competing as a pro as a national-level roadie? Avoiding 'thons extended her career.
What about that other one from Mammoth & Agoura Hills HS?
What about Katie McGregor (MN)?
Many examples of girls who have extended their career by choosing US only eligible roadraces.
Sorry, that's horse shit! At one time you were surely right, many years ago, but now?...no way. You are way off base. My wife read your post and is seriously laughing out loud. You're a few decades off.

Very true, however most men don't go preach male empowerment after accomplishing their goals.
Right. They just pretend that they did it all on their own.
I say she puts in one more big marathon effort just to show her new sponsors and all of us that she can do it without Nike behind her then she will quietly retire and continue to use the Oiselle group to keep her in the limelight as long as possible for the retirement fund.
Any idea when she will announce which Fall marathon she will run? It's getting pretty close to Chicago if she is aiming for that one. Maybe New York again?
