Does anyone feel motivated to buy Hokas, since Manzano has using them?

Absolutely. He is a great advertising tool. And now that the Cliftons are finally out (6.9 oz) I'm actually considering buying them.
Manzano has nothing to do with it, but I am curiuos about the Hoka brand. Would love to know if they offer any stabiity and are as well-cushioned as they look, but they are too expensive to merit experimentation.

6pm.com, my friend. They basically sell what's left over from zappos.
The Clifton are $130. The Brooks ghost are $120.
I have been running in the Bondi the last few months. I ran over 750 miles on the first pair. The second pair is at 6-700. I'm going to get the Clifton and see if they are suitable to run a marathon in. The bondi have a little too much cushion for racing that I believe slows the pace down a few seconds. That doesn't matter when training, but would when racing.
I started wearing Hoka before Manzano was brought on. Legs were aching during every run even in cushioned shoes like the Ghost. The Hokas were a very noticeable improvement.

I have had the same experience as this poster. I run in the Bondi (I liked the upper better in the previous model). I also tried the Conquest but thought the midsole was too stiff.

Well that's probably not a fair comparison as the brooks ghost is a standard cushion shoe. The brooks glycerin would be a better comparison to most hoka's.
I havent tried them, but I'm temped. A LOT of masters runners swear by these shoes. Most competitive guys I know that use them swear by them as THE go to shoe on their easy days.

Nope, the opposite. I was thinking about getting some right up until they signed him, now no way
I am very tempted to try them. Most of the roads I run on are concrete. I am also a master runner with some lower leg issues that do not feel so good after long runs on the road. My only concerns are that the shoes might be too wide for my very skinny foot and that I would never hear the end of it from the folks I run with.
I have no idea who that even is. But I do love my Bondi 3s. Have a pair of Huakas on order.
I'm going to start with a pair of Stinson's today to see how they work. As a 55 year old with a knee replacement they may be my only option to do some limited running. Some elite runner using them really doesn't enter into the equation.
I ran in Hokas before Manzano. I liked the cushion, but switched to the Skecher Ultra because they are more flexible and responsive. (and lighter)
Most of my runs are in the Skecher Sprint. The two extremes...minimalist or loads of cushion.
fat old runners asking for fat new shoes haha.
lose weight and youll be able to skim along in any shoe
aint no hoka in Japan or Africa fatties
sdfgsgsgfs wrote:fat old runners asking for fat new shoes haha.Yes we are, but the problem is in order to lost weight we need to run, so there's the dilemma. I'd love to "skim along" in the same old flats I used to be able to train in, just doesn't work anymore.
