At times, I find Letsrun incredibly ironic. In said article, Clay calls himself ignorant, arrogant, and single-minded. Letsrun proceeds to call him ignorant, arrogant, and single minded for writing said article. Damn if you do, damn if you don't.

All the kid is saying, to be financially successful as an Elite runner, Start a charity, vocally help out a group that you're passionate about, put your name out there in a public relations sense (he even says the words, "Public Relations). In return, you greater your chances to be more sell-able in gaining a sponsorship.
It's not rocket science, people, but apparently for some it might as well be.
Personally, I think there's 1-2 wanna-be elites on here, and they're freaking out to the thought of doing something besides run in their daily lives. You can't live off mommy and daddy forever.
