I agree. Fast running breaks down shoes much quicker. And runner who get high mileage are partly doing a lot of slow running and probably weakening their body in the process by trying to do too much mileage in the same shoe.
after about 400-500 miles on my NB 890v.3 or 4 I get new ones. Once the forfoot is so thin it wears through my feet start to hurt, then I know. I wish I could get a shoe that I could get 600 in but the standard rule of thumb for most people and trainers is 300-500 miles.
