There was a constant loud and persistent soundtrack of music playing at the meet-as if we track fans needed constant entertainment--and could not be relied on to take in the events on their own merit--the songs were played loudly, even making it difficult to hear the announcing during the races!
Am wondering what sort of thought pattern went into this decision--and how it affected other long-time fans of the sport--as we drove seven hours to attend this meet for the last four days of it.
Will this now be a staple of track meets at Hayward---and in the U.S.? How do others feel about it?
