Show me where anyone has ever been unhappy with a cable company and successfully changed to another cable company.
If you can do that than I will go a long way towards agreeing with you. If you do can't do that than your question has been answered.
Of course If you think cable is like a pack of cigarettes and people are better off without it altogether than I have no argument.
That's a pretty silly statement. I work for Comcast as a sales rep and I could show you thousands of customers that have left Verizon and are very happy with Comcast. I have a few friends that work for Verizon and I'm sure they know many customers that left Comcast and are very happy with Verizon. People have different experiences with companies, some good, some bad. Most people are happy with the company they have. If you don't like Comcast or Verizon, go to Direct TV. If you don't like Direct, go to Dish Network. What monopoly do we have?
About five years ago I worked in DTD sales for Verizon FIOS. We went to Comcast customers trying to get them to change. Although we got some sales, the VAST majority of Comcast customers were happy and didn't want to change. Like someone mentioned earlier, cable is a want not a need. If $150/m is too much, then don't get cable. Get a better job or shut up. I have a big problem with spending 4 or 5 hundred dollars for a cell phone, so guess what, I have a flip phone. All I do with a phone is call and receive calls. You won't hear me bitching and whining about I Phones, I just won't buy one.
