With average SAT scores not too different from Sarah Palin's, you have to wonder.

Anyone else ballsy enough to predict Merrimack College will dethrone Stonehill on the women's side this year? Their women's team is stacked after their admins were able to "shake the money tree" in the wake of their title 9 scandal.

Nice - now I have other people using my phrases - I'm flattered! What about this Title1x scandal - do tell?
PS - and no - Merrimack will not beat Stonehill
UC San Diego may be the best d2 school overall academically with CO School of Mines?

I think you are missing my point Sarah Palin-I was making the point that most people who live in the Northeast have ever heard of the schools that I mentioned in an earlier thread. I wouldn't expect people in Western US to be on top of schools in the Northeast-10 conference and vice versa.
Not claiming that NE-10 schools are great academically, nor was I taking shots at the Western US schools
Nexctrackfan, have you noticed that almost all of your posts require you to come back and defend what you REALLY meant to say in your previous post? That people are just "misunderstanding" you?
That probably means that your original posts are trash and you are not good at arguing the point in the way that you think you are.
It's kind of like the guy who complains that everyone he meets is a jerk. But it's far more likely that he's reallt the only jerk.
You should probably quit the Internet. You're pretty bad at it.

Thanks for the pep talk - coming from you it means NOTHING - I will continue to post my thoughts and comments - thank you very much! What I have noticed is that this thread is much more active and I would prefer to keep it on the topic - Northeast-10 XC
y is ne10 active on lrc... other conferences should be ashamed
Every year this thread turns into dumb shit
haha yo (northeast 10 my *#*) wrote:

I thought I would try an get the conversation above that line this year by starting earlier and talking about the actual running - but I am sure once we get going the FTW lines will take over again

Why not - although the talent may not be as strong as other conferences - the effort and interest remains high - and in the Northeast it is one of the largest conferences in any division.
No. It's just you.
You use these threads like your own personal diary.

Then just don't read them or respond and troll somewhere else!

I doubt stonehill or FP would land anyone that would break into their top 5. Not saying they don't have any decent freshmen, but I just think their returners are at a pretty high level; one that is such that a better than average d2 recruit probably would find it hard to earn a spot right away, unlike one might be able to do at MC or Adelphi this year.
AIC however could bring in another Kenyan or two I'm sure. If so. They win.
Overall in my book, FP is a year older and stonehill loses 1-2 guys from their nationals team. I'd give the early edge to FP. It's always safe to bet on experience, that's why this is such a tastey matchup. They both have it now.
Here is the conference schedule:
http://northeast10.org/sports/xc/2014-15/scheduleSo? Now that the season starts next weekend, can/will anyone dethrone Stonehill College for the Northeast-10 Championship? Men or Women? I bet FPU wins men's on home course. Possible upset with Southern NH, or Adelphi on the Women's!

AIC has their roster somewhat up, its at this link:

Mitchell Bryne - 20 year old freshmen from Ireland looks like a nice addition (maybe a better track addition though) for AIC - here are his current PR's:
Event Result
800m 1:54.98
1500m 3:55.00
Mile 4:23.06
3000m 8:43.7h

Tomorrow - saturday 9/6
AIC/New Haven @ Trinity Invite
First look at how new AIC recruits will solidify the back side for the frontrunners- Biwott/Chirchir
Assumption/Bentley/Merrimack/St A's/St. Mike's/SNH/Stonehill @ Shacklette Invite
In previous years this has been Stonehill's non-varsity against everyone else's varsity, which provided a somewhat competitive team race. Will be interesting to see if they do that again - because on paper Merrimack is stronger this year and could win. Does Boen care? Does she add some of her Varsity runners into the race or just let the youngsters race?
LeMoyne runs at it's own Invite - not sure of the other competetion
On Sunday I am interested to see how Adelphi runs and whether they look to have any ability to run later in the season with AIC/FP/Stonehi

Bentley had the top freshman at Shacklette...doesn't mean too much in 90+ degree weather in the first week of September but it sure is a good start.
Also saw a stonehill runner who couldn't run in a straight line when he came out of the woods with 600m to go, seemed delirious and dehydrated. Hope everything is ok
Saw the results - nice run by Cadorette for Bentley in the heat, as well as McGee from Stonehill. Bradford, another SH recruit did not not appear to run and Merrimack had three freshmen (Steinbrecher/Gentile/Murphy)in their top 5 to help them win the team award.
I also do agree that because of the conditions you really can't take much from that race. Will have to really wait until late September/early Oct to get a true read on who has some freshmen that will help a team come November.
NE-10 XC Athletes and Rookies Announced Yesterday
http://northeast10.org/sports/xc/2014-15/playerofweek/XC_Week_1.pdf
No issue with guys selection for Co - Athlete of the Week between Fiermonte (Assumption ) and Filippazzo(Adelphi) or Girls Athlete being Strong from LeMoyne, but thought that they could have done a better job with Rookie selections.
Picked runners who did not even run either a full 5K(Girls) or an 8K(Guys) in their first college race? Huh? This is college right and usually that means a step up in competition and distance. I just think that they should have recognized rookies who went into their first college race with the added pressure of moving up in competition (Knox from Stonehill) or distance (Cadorette from Bentley) vs, those that did not have to worry about that mental "barrier"
