Don't forget that Bob PR'd in the 10,000 only six months ago. On top of that, he looked relaxed and very comfortable in the Trials but the bum Achilles knocked him out.
My hunch from those two races is that BK is the fittest he has been since his glory days. I always thought he was better suited to the longer distances and wish he had run a 10,000 back when was consistently throwing down sub-13:05's.
The guy knows the sport and himself very well, and he's always been a stallion when the gun went off. I don't expect him to make any rookie mistakes, but the 'thon has eaten the lunch of many a world-class track runner. I hope he gets cool weather and sane pacing through halfway. Really eager to see this one.
