Back in the 1970's to early 1980's the best I did was:
1) 15 miler on the track in 1:19:20, closing in 52:10/14:45 last 10/3 miles,
2) 5 X 1 Mile on Track in 4:39
3) 4 X 1/2 mile on Track in 2:07.5
Averaged 105 MPW until end of season train downs.
Produced 2:23 Marathon, 24:43 for 5.0 Miles X-C and 30:45 for 10K in NCAA X-C (as my moniker indicates).
