Tighten up the hips and lead to overcompensation in areas (happened to me in my illiac(sp?) crest)... the new wave is low rep high weight in a gym..
I personally take the lydiard approach and am a skeleton. The OP should pool run.
Did you just do front planks? Because front side and back planks would engage different muscle groups.
