I meant top 5 individuals not on a qualifying team, sorry for not clarifying. I believe Panning and Guy will be in the top 3, but I have GV, USI, UWP, SVSU, and Malone making it out so I didn't take into consideration their top guys.

Competition Day – All competition & any associated athletically related activities on the day of competition shall count as 3 hours regardless of actual duration. Countable athletically related activities may not be conducted following competition (including during vacation periods) except between consecutive contests (i.e. doubleheaders).
It's in the Countable Hours section.
If you considered your workout as part of your "cool down" then I am sure you can make it work. But if you told your team to do a hard work out and one of them complained to your compliance person about it being excessive then I am sure they could get you in trouble for it.
The Rule was created to keep coaches from keeping their kids after a game looking at game film or going to the weight room after a game. It was meant to stop coaches from having all day "practice" on a Saturday
Rule book also states that practice is defined as any meeting, activity or instruction involving sports-related information and having an athletics purpose, held for one or more student-athletes at the direction of, or supervised by, any member or members of an institution's coaching staff.
Any volunteer stuff wouldn't be countable. ... Would doing core back at your dorm room be countable?
If we go by what you said. A cool down is a violation. Since it's "outside" the competition when you cross the line and the race is over.
J Guy running a workout after a race isn't excessive and isn't a violation.
According to an article on GV's website, Bryce Bradley is not listed as competing tomorrow at Regionals. They are racing Panning, May, Mach, Selner, Flores, Wilkins and Sharnas.
unless you call a 7 mile cooldown a workout, johnnie guy wasn't working out after the glvc meet.
Could Grand Valley potentially race a different squad at nationals than they race at regionals?
It's definitely a possibility. They sat Stephen Fuelling at Regionals two years in a row and then placed in the top 25 at Nats each year.

What was their reasoning? Could be a similar case this season with Bradley.
Maybe they just feel rest and training will benefit him for nationals. Or could be something minor. I honestly don't know. I'm guessing just to make sure he is feeling good and ready to go for nats. GV has always been cautious about not wearing people out or gaging how people are feeling physically. Perhaps someone who knows better with this particular case can provide an answer. It isn't likely to affect the results much and they will qualify so I don't see any harm in resting Bradley. Cini isn't racing either.
Gv could sit their top 7 and still qualify.

+1
I meant that more as a 'that isn't a concern'. I fully expect they'll win by a good margin.
Are LIVE RESULTS being posted anywhere?
Could Grand Valley send their B team ( minus Bryce Bradley) to nationals? I vote yes.
1. GVSU - 43
2. USI - 122
3. UWP - 126
4. Malone - 166
5. Walsh - 212
Ind.

2. Walsh is the extreme darkhorse team that had everything come together perfectly today
3. Tuttle had the race of his life but does boast a 29:47 10k PR on the track
4. I heard Johnnie Guy was very sick going into this race and almost didn't even run. Hope he recovers fully by Nationals.
Interesting and somewhat disappointing race for the GLIAC.
