Hi! I am new here.
I'm a 33 year old female who has been running for about 2 years. I have a 5k in two weeks that I have been training pretty hard for. I started out 8 weeks ago around 26 minutes and I would like to run 22-23 minutes. 3 weeks ago I did a practice 5k in 24 minutes.
I've been running about 20-25 miles a week with one longer run (6-8 miles) and one day of intervals. This has worked great until this past week when I amped up the paces on my intervals and went to 25 miles from 20-22. I'm feeling burnt out now and I'm slower on my normal run days. My regular 8:30 "easy" pace is now around 8:50 but feels like the same effort. I think this means I overtrained. My question is, what do I do now with the race in 2 weeks? Should I push through the last hard week of training and taper like the schedule says, or do I rest now because my performances are crappy? Should I rest the whole 12 days left before the race?
