I joined a box for a year. If you need to workout in a group it’s great. If not it’s a waste of a lot of money and does have a high injury risk.
Since leaving I still do the basic CrossFit “Cindy” workout on my own. I’ve have seen better results from just this than the crazy WODs the box put us through. I’m sure to do everything strict though too. Kipping is another thing that led me to leave the box.
For the “Cindy” all you need is a pull-up bar…
20 minutes AMRAP
5 pull-ups (strict)
10 push-ups (all the way up and down)
15 Air Squats (I’ll add weight occasionally)
This workout covers all the strength bases. Surprisingly my core strength has gone through the roof despite not doing a single core specific exercise. Also I now have a lot more time to run,
