This is an XC thread, so I'm only going to consider XC. It is a bit complicated to compare Howard and Woods since Howard only coaches one gender. Obviously Woods should have more AAs because he has twice the opportunity.

These are the last 12 nationals (all of Geneseo's streak). I may have made some mistakes in finding the data. Yes, I have nothing better to do.
Last 12 year avgs
Geneseo men avg team place = 13.167
Geneseo men # AAs = 10
Geneseo men avg highest place indiv = 36.667
Geneseo women avg team place = 11.75
Geneseo women # AAs = 8
Geneseo women avg highest place indiv = 41.667

SLU women avg team place (years they qualified) = 12.125
SLU women # AAs = 11
SLU women avg highest place indiv = 29.9 (skewed due to no indiv Qs for 2 years)

I picked a time frame that would skew the data in Geneseo's favor. I'm not convinced Woods has been a better XC coach than Howard in the last 12 years. If I had picked a time frame that would skew the data in SLU's favor (last 6 years-see below), Howard would destroy Woods in each category. Woods obviously has had a lot of success in XC. In the last few years, as D3 running as improved drastically, his teams have not had much success at all when compared to SLU's women.
Last 6 year avgs
Geneseo men avg team place = 12.833
Geneseo men # AAs = 6
Geneseo men avg highest place indiv = 36.167
Geneseo women avg team place = 13.333
Geneseo women # AAs = 3
Geneseo women avg highest place indiv = 48.333
SLU women avg team place = 8.833
SLU women # AAs = 10
SLU women avg highest place indiv = 15.5
With half the chances (he only coaches women), Howard has coached more All Americans and earned 2 trophies to Woods' 1. In the last 6 years (not actually that small a sample size), Howard has been significantly better. In the last 12, they have been relatively even.
