Individuals: A classic battle between Marcantonio, Miles-Rath and Karten last year at Letchworth. But what have they done this track season? Karten is out of eligibility I believe? Marcantonio and Miles-Rath appear to be very injury prone and will be probably be on thin ice before they are injured again. I’m expecting someone from the underclassmen will take the title this year.
Karten has run 14:09 for a top-10 finish in the Penn Relays 5K and also has a few 3:54 1500s to his name.
Pretty sure Karten is out of xc eligibility so his accomplishments this outdoor season are decidedly unimportant to this discussion. He is running very well though.
Looks like the team battle should be pretty exciting this year. Cortland loses a few but brings back Marcantonio. Genny keeps all of their depth and all get older (and maybe a transfer if that is true). Nyu loses Karten but brings back Oja, Kadiyal and Lake. Slu loses a few but brings back most of their depth. Rpi came on strong last year and brings back a few of their guys, they could do some things this year. Rochester looks to rebound after last year but only returns a few + Rollfs who had a nice 10k this year.
Should be a fun year in the AR.
I'm calling the individual winner is going to be a senior, the top 7 returners from regionals are all seniors (Marcantonio, Miles-Rath, Moynihan, Kadiyal, Oja, Bibb, Iacovell)
