I would have never expected that from wejo. Classic kick. Commit, go to the arms, and dig deep. Impressive.
How old was Ngatia in that race, 40? He, or his namesake, ran at UTEP in the late 70s or early 80s didn't he?

This video is from TV series, 'Running & Racing". This was a Marty Liquori production.
After seeing Wejo's T shirt I discovered Lets Run.

I believe it's the same Ngatia and that he would have been 41 or 42 at the time of this race.
WeJo: maybe you never ran a great marathon time because you were really a 1500m guy. What are your PRs at 400m and 800m?
How have you guys not seen this before?
Why is it that the old LRC logo looked more up to date than the current one?
This website is so pathetic it is endearing. At this point the BlowBros have come full circle.

In my case, that I'm a little late to the party. [by the time I started frequenting the site, WeJo's running career wasn't much discussed.]
Anyway, any other classic WeJo clips to recommend?
Is this the fastest half marathon run in a T shirt tucked in? Someone should go find this out.
This was obviously--and I mean OBVIOUSLY--fixed.

In correct racing attire, improve his starting stance, a haircut that looks like it's from this century, correct his girlish right-arm (that awful Steven Seagal-esque thing), some hillsprints in training, not having to go wide on last bend, better pacing to bell, FAT timing and his shoes tied on correctly
2:17 -> 1:38
LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Lotta fast dudes run in t-shirts. Maybe you have to be both fast and cool-as-shit to pull it off.

That is SERIOUSLY old school. What year is that from?
[note, however, that the t-shirt is untucked.]
And carrying gloves as well like it is a training run. Legend!
Wejo's head looks ENORMOUS.
1975 BOSTON marathon. Bill Rodgers being "the man of the year".
obviously doped up
Letsrun.com is a lot like college coaching. History repeats itself. I used to joke every year there are new freshmen, seniors, etc.On LRC, great topics get regurgitated about once every four years. There was a nice thread on this a few years back. I don't think I'd ever seen the video until then:http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=4217660

I mean above the shoulders. Seriously, my head is even bigger. I can't wear an adjustable baseball cap as I'm over an eight. Guess my brain is just so big it won't fit.

Absolutely. Perfection.
I got the sense Wejo may have studied the course/map a little bit, for a nice advantage. Either that or great racing sense. He choose that spot like a boss and opened up a huge gap in a moment's time.
LOL...WEJO, "the stock car racer"...

Thanks for the link to the earlier thread, RoJo - you "top distance man" you. Hilarious about WeJo's USATF bio listing him as 5'10 and 157. No way - I'm 5'11 and you guys have at least 2" on me.
WeJo: I still want those underdistance PRs. I think you're another one of those natural mid d guys like Mo. No wonder you think strength = speed - for you that's probably 100% true.
