kennster's 1500 speed wouda been within a second of rupp's ( maybe 3'29 v 3'30 ) at their peaks, so speed is not the issue, certainly not for 10k - tergat woud probably not have been able to crack 3'35 when he ran his 26'27wr & he was capable of 26'20 that day at even pace off those poor 13'18/13'09 splits with a 7'50 finish !!!
rupp shoud be looking for < 26'40
26'30 looks a bit quick for him, so go for middle ground of 26'35 as a good target
if he ticks off 64s laps from gun to bell, he woud reach it in 25'36
a 59s last lap woud get him 26'35
aim for 64s/lap from gun & kick the last lap woud be a good plan
