2:02:57, then DQ. Something tells me SaladBar was angered by the USATF mess and shot up his horses enough make the machine go *PING!*
If I'm wrong I will do Christian Hesch pushups AND Mo Farah situps at the finish line of my next race.

We really haven't seen anything from Mo indicating the enormous amount of aerobic strength it takes to run 2:05 or lower, so the 2:06 range seems like a reasonable prediction.
True.
But we haven't seen anything from Mo indicating that he lacks aerobic strength.
All we have is a one second loss to Bekele in a half marathon six months ago.
Imagine if you took that level of fitness and added six months of dedicated marathon training to it.
I agree that it seems doubtful that he would run 2:05 low.
But mostly because that is hard to do and he lacks experience.
I can't say that he lacks talent and training.
Bekele surprised me with his time.
I wouldn't be surprised if I was surprised again.

We've seen Mo lose 2 half marathons in the last half a year? In not out of the ordinary times?

The poster is right. There's a difference that your peabrain can't understand. Get help fast grox, you need it.
Kenenisa crossed the line first. He won. He did nothing wrong, there was no protest, he did not get disqualified. He just beat Mo Farah like he's already done a million times. You can't face the facts.
Get help or don't, I couldn't care less.
Yes. 1. Faster course; 2. Pacing through 30k; 3. Marathoning tends not to be sit and kick tactical -- people just run fast until they can't go anymore.
I don't think a lot faster for Farah, maybe 2:04.

To Bekele and Mutai you idiot
I say no. Just checked the equivalents. Would you think Mo could run 59:04 or 26:28.00?!
My prediction: He get's kinda close with 2:05:40.
Just to think about him going faster! That would mean 2:04:xx - and make him one of the best ever.
But for sure he will run more then just his debut - as will Bekele who already indicated he was going for the world record. He said he lost 10 seconds per k, for ten kilometers. 2:05:03 minus 100s is talking about 2:03:23.

That says more about the usefulness of the "equivalents" than anything else. Mo would run an excellent half marathon if he wanted to.

He's not an idiot. The times were slow enough that Mo should have had the advantage. It doesn't matter that they were Bekele and Mutai. Likewise, his constant reliance on sitting and kicking certainly doesn't help him.

Mo didn't care about the Great North Run, his focus was on World Championships. Canova mentioned beforehand that Bekele would win because he could peak for the race and Mo would be spent.
He fell and passed out in NYC so I don't hold that against him.
Maybe he would. He just never cared for times, with the crazy exception of his 3:28.
Well, people here are saying he could run 26:30 if he only cared to. We will see, until now he's not let us see his cards, distance wise.
I agree that his titles over 10,000m prove more or less that he could run faster times.
Don't call me an idiot.I think Mo's performance in both those races was fine .. but running under 2:05 would seem to require a better than "fine" half marathon. Mo was beaten by Bekele and Bekele didn't run under 2:05. Mo beat Geb by what, less than a minute? And most of that came in his finishing kick over the last 1k, or so, no? How close do you think Geb would go to running 2:07 nowadays?I think everything we've seen from Mo in the half marathon says he doesn't have the aerobic power to run under 2:05 .. if he did, I think he'd have finished with a faster time in NYC, and he wouldn't have blacked out after he finished the race. We'll see on Sunday .. I hope it's a great race, and am looking forward to watching it.

Certainly no. He hasn't even been training like one even if he was a marathoner. Great payday though which is really the whole point.
NO
Sure, he finished just in front of him after running 13.1 miles...I don't think so. I agree with the poster, he barely held him off. Easily? What race were you watching? Bekele gave everything he had and finished just steps in front of him. Easily is the stupidest description of Bekele's finishing effort I have ever read.
Clearly beat him? I think you missed the point that the poster was trying to make. He's not saying that he didn't finish first or in front of Farah, just that it was close. Wow, the illiteracy/comprehension on this board is scary.
I don't know which of them you are quoting/replying to, but Bekele clearly beat him. And easily.
Agreed. Great payday indeed.

London is a flater and faster course and Mo will be able to draft behind someone the whole way.
When Kenny ran Paris he was all alone after 25km which was difficult for him.
Taking in to consideration. mo passed out after running a 1:02 in Nyc, Mo will probably dnf or run no better than 2:06 and change.
I disagree. He'll run 2:05 or better with that field. Then we'll hear that he couldn't do it the hard way, by himself. He's going to surprise you, but either way it's going to be a great race.

When reality is not like what you want, resort to denial. When you have nothing to say, resort to insults. The spelling is just icing on the cake.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
