I have taken nearly a month off to recover from some long-term overtraining. I had a solid base prior to this break (54 mpw during the fall; 45ish during the winter). I ran a 4:58 mile off of only a few weeks of training at the beginning of indoor. I am hoping to start running again in the next 2 weeks if possible. If this can happen, I'll have about a month left before outdoor ends. What is a good way to have a gradual return to running while also getting in shape to do a couple races at our later track meets? Ideas on mileage, workouts, whether I should skip the season alltogether etc. would be greatly appreciated!
