Having done some actual classroom teaching (in addition to 30+ years of coaching), I really recommend that a potential teacher get some instruction in pedagogy. Dunno, are there books or video series? Must be. Have someone teach you how to teach!
I got a master's in education (after a STEM-ish undergrad degree) and in those two grad years I frankly did not learn as much about *actually teaching* as I did when I spent a couple weeks being trained to teach for Kaplan. Join an online community, cultivate friendships (personal or professional) with veteran teachers, look for help and advice from as many sources as possible. It's possible to improve for many years, and to help other nascent teachers along the way.
