He may be only 118 lbs now, but he's going to be gaining at least £250,000 come April 13.

And then there's the quarter pounder he's packing down below.

The point is he is what he is, an ectomorph, and you are what you are, an idiot.
Ectomorph
An ectomorph is a typical skinny guy. Ecto’s have a light build with small joints and lean muscle. Usually ectomorph’s have long thin limbs with stringy muscles. Shoulders tend to be thin with little width.
Typical traits of an ectomorph:
• Small “delicate” frame and bone structure
• Classic “hardgainer”
• Flat chest
• Small shoulders
• Thin
• Lean muscle mass
• Finds it hard to gain weight
• Fast metabolism
Generally, ectomorphs can lose fat very easily which makes cutting back to lean muscle easier for them.
Half of those characterististics have no real physiological basis. They are madeup.
I seriously doubt Farah is 5'9". When comparing his height to other runners he's been photographed next to, I'd say he's 5'7" Max.
Regardless, he's still very light at 118lb

Emanual Mutai - 5'4" - 115 lbs
Geoffrey Mutai - 5'8" - 143 pounds (REALLY?

Moses Mosop - 5'5" - 119 pounds
Haile Gebrselassie - 5'5" - 123 lbs
Samuel Wanjiru - 5'4" - 114 lbs
Tsegaye Kebede - 5'2" - 110 lbs
From the list above, it looks like Farah is right where he needs to be.

How does that list show he's right where he needs to be? Those guys are heavier than Farah per inch.
Farah is 5'5" and 118. So Farah is about the same as E. Mutai, Mosop and Wanjiru. If he were 4 pounds heavier, he'd be about the same as Makau and the Emperor (who famously looses like 10+ pounds when he runs a marathon). So, he's in the neighborhood either way. If he was 118 at the start of the NY 1/2, he'll be closer to 120 at the start of London when he is tapered, rested and carbo-loaded.
I think the thread was supposed to 'shock' everyone, but he's in the ball park for all the other great modern marathoners.
I'd like to see how that list compares to some of the 70's era runners like Rogers, Shorter, Salazar, and the like. No doubt today's runners are shorter, but the lbs/inch values may be similar.
From memory Rodgers was a bit over 5'9" and weighed 128. Shorter was 5'10" and about 132. Salazar was 5'11" and 143.
they don't call somalians "skinnies" for nothing. that's his normal body habitus, man.
118.
I wonder if that was part of the reason Mo was slower to react from the fall in his last race. Granted it was cold and they were running at a good clip. I've known a bigger runner who was hit by a car and the doc later said his mass/strength was what saved him.
Perhaps the loss in weight might have gained Mo some performance improvements but also made him very fragile?

Farah is 5'5" and 118.
Farah is 5 ft 9.
Agreed, there is no way he is 5'9". MAYBE 5'6".

I wonder how many people on this site have been skinnier. I've been a touch lighter and am taller.

While the Google box thingie has him at 5'9", the UK Athletics site lists him as 165 cm which is a shade under 5'5". For what it's worth Rupp is supposed to be about 5'11" and Mo is clearly more than 2" shorter in pictures of the two side by side.

Check either your source, or your calculations - 5'5"

Oh, here's some supplemental info for you:
Meathead - An enormously muscular guy who cannot hold a conversation about anything other than weight-lifting and protein shakes. Gets upset very quickly when he cannot complete his own sentences and thoughts. Can be found at nightclubs wearing shirts that are 10 sizes too small (if at all). They are by far the most closely related human beings to that of apes, chimpanzees, and other primate. They are evolutionary hindered and are less capable of following directions than my dead hamster.
He looks lighter than 118.
Here is a picture of Mo, Geb, & Bekele all together to give a frame of reference for his height.
Geb & Bekele are both 5'5
Mo looks to be about the same

What was your typical daily diet when training for the Olympics?
Breakfast (7am):
Breakfast was coffee and cereal, normally Frosties, as I really like them -probably a little too much! However they gave me my much needed sugar rush to get me through the early part of each day.
Lunch (12pm):
I'm not really a big eater of large meals - more several small little plates during the day. But if I had a lunch, it tended to be pasta, steamed vegetables and grilled chicken.
Dinner (8pm):
Dinner would be the same again - pasta, steamed vegetables and grilled chicken. I realise it doesn't sound too exciting, but for someone doing my pursuit it was absolutely the right thing to eat. It's an exciting life I lead!
Except Bolt is 6'5" and doesn't appear to be a foot taller than Mo when they stand beside each other.
