i know this is last minute but i need hotel recommendations for boston marathon.
most hotels are prob sold out but is it best to check for availability in hopkinton or any other cities? which towns are closest to the start?
i wasn't supposed to run due to injury but now i'm healed so that is why im booking late.

If you need a hotel room now then you are going to be paying for about a month since the race is not until mid-April.

I'll tell you what works.
I like to stay NEAR the start. Look for a hotel in milford that offers a shuttle bus to the start. Leave your car at the hotel and have a friend or family member drive you back from Boston. If you are alone, take one of the BAA buses back to Hopkinton and see about any cab service you might find to return you to your hotel. Call the local hotels in towns neighboring Hopkinton.
Or stay in Milford and then drive to one of the Hopkinton state park parking lots and take a BAA bus back there after the race. I am telling you it is great to be near the start.
Who wants to get up in the middle of the night and cram on to a bus with a bunch of other people. Stay in Milford. Drive yourself to the designated parking lot. Sit in your car for a while with the heat on. Have some water. Urinate in the bushes.
Trust me. This is what will work.

Secret. You are correcto! I get dropped off and then met in Boston so I don't have to go back to Hopkinton.
I have a room with double beds at the Eliot Hotel, which is a great location very near the finish area (370 Commonwealth Ave). I was expecting to have family but now am a singleton and looking for a roommate. Check-in is Saturday April 19 and check-out is Monday April 21. If you are interested let me know. I would consider sharing your room as well but I love this location.
