Hey everybody!
My first time out on these forums but decided to call for help. I am 22 and fairly new to athletics (marathons and IM triathlon) and I have a MAJOR binge eating disorder and it really affects my performance no matter the miles I put in (can anyone else relate, am I the only one suffering?).
For example, at my lowest racing weight 5'7" and 138 lbs I can clip around a 6:06- 6:15 pace for 20 miles. My marathon PR at 144 lbs is 3:04:00 at Philly Marathon, and that was a day after binge eating and feeling bad. 10 days later I can go from 144 lbs to 154 lbs and my pace slows to a 7:00- 7:15 pace, and I have trouble completing all 26 miles. CAN ANYONE else relate such a change in performance in only 2 weeks from just solely gaining weight? I know it sounds absurd, but I was wondering what anyone did to combat their problem. My main problem is fluctuating +/- 12 lbs a month and no matter my training my only performance factor seems to be diet? Anyone have this problem?
