yeah, it's not like there's ever been any foreign athletes and transfers who flopped at arkansas. what could i possibly be thinking. i'd forgotten that all the athletes who go there magically fulfill expectations and never misstep.
I smell somethin fishy goin on at Arkansas. I know many of the runners at Central Methodist College in MO where Boit was originally and they said he was kicked out of school on grades, and that they were so low that the only school he could get into was cowley. It's amazing how mcdonell was able to get him into a DI level academic university with piss poor grades. Makes you wonder though, doesnt it?
Hell yea ! Chamoody can!
Ritz can! Oh wait, nevermind.
Arkansas does recruit american kids. Two years ago they got a large class including footlocker finalist Josh Harper and 4:07 miler Adam Perkins, both great american runners. The basis of there team is american. And really who cares, if it is getting someone an education and making them a better runner then awesome. So shut up ass
Pat
Boit is a smart kid. He had a lot on his plate at cmc (work), however he was never kicked out. I'm sure he pulled up his grades at community college. I hope he can keep it up! Go Boit

No, not really. It looks like Boit couldn't make it at the first school, so he did what many hundreds of kids do each year and went to a JuCo. Upon graduating from the JuCo, he was eligible to go D-I. He chose Arkansas. I know you want to find something here, but you're misinformed on the system.

Oh yeah? Name a few. IMO, Arkansas/McDonnell seems to have the highest "success" rate of any of the majors. I have a hard time naming many kids who went there and just stunk. Even the ones who left were not busts (Vasquez, Alkin, et al).
This is my first message on lets run, after looking at it for several years, but I thought bigs received misinformation and Boit was the victim. Boit was never kicked out of Central Methodist. I doubt you know any of the other Kenyans that were there at that time because they know he was not kicked out. He maintained above average grades and will continue to do so.

Isn't it a NCAA violation if Fountain--a professional runner--trains with the Razorback XC team and is not a student??
It is legal to train with the team post-collegiately as long as he is listed as a volunteer coach for the program. Otherwise, it is perceived as an extra benefit for the athletes.
it's funny how that is brought up when something is said about arkansas having post-collegiates hanging around, yet people talk about how great it is at michigan and how everyone should go there to school because they have tim broe, paul mcmullen, kevin sullivan (i realize he was an assistant), and whoever else there to train with. why is it that people love to hate arkansas. and the american thing is insane. of all the guys who ran for arkansas on saturday with a jersey or unattached, boit and rodrigues were the only foreigners. and only one of the kids was a footlocker finalist, and he was running unattached. maybe we should look at other schools who have 20-30 FL finalists and be infuriated with them because 90% of those guys never do anything. so arkansas takes good americans and works with them to make them better, other places take the absolute top notch americans and lets them wither away. and we still love to hate arkansas. seems like a logical group of thinkers.

arkansas does it again...got any americans on the team? Who cares is a team wins with all these transfer foreigners..go back to kenya! Try recruiting some 18 yr old americans.
Coach Mac is tasked with producing a winning program that competes for championships. He signs the best athletes he can within the rules, and recruiting foreign athletes is within the rules.
We live in a global society and universities should be (and are) representative of the society in which they exist, so having foreign athletes is little more than a reflection of the world in which we live.
There are plenty of Americans, by the way, and the Americans like training with the foreign athletes.
Don't like it? Get faster.
yeah, let's send ahmed back to massachusetts, bordes and norris back to texas, sandfort make to missouri, gunn back to idaho, and the feltners back to, er, arkansas. not a single person from "america" on that team. f***ing foreigners, get out. we need some 18 year old americans on that team.
