impressed at how Brannen and Torrence kicked the last lap fastest lap
RICH PETERS! HEROIC!
Very fine result from Torrence and Brannen on their national records and congratulations to Peters as well for his college record. Running 2:16.86i is strong. It may be that Torrence can put on a good attempt outdoors at that very strong, old American record of 2:13.9. By very strong attempt, I mean 2:14ish. Torrence is a great guy, still the source of among the greatest threads ever on lets run, and it would be fantastic for him to break through outdoors to 3:31.
Why doesn't Torrence's record get a full home page screen thing or whatever it is called?

This.
Anyone remember his downhill sub-4 road mile? He's come a long way. Congrats to DT.

That was an awesome thread.
Also, does anyone else feel like he is overstriding a bit in his race?
A little. Therefore he's probably doped to the gills and just got his timing wrong for US indoors.

Torrence 2:16.86 AR

Trialswatcher I didn't realize those were the results as the thread said the race was at night.

Hardly anyone knew it happened. I was on here last night and there was no talk of it.
Race was at 2PM EST
Watched it on web cast
Torrence and Brannen, both looked very good
Although those are/were some of the softest records in the business, little more solid now

Well I decided to give him QOD if that makes you feel better. I'm not in charged of the black pages, but I don't know if the AR in the 1000 really warrants that. Did we even give Solomon's All-Stars a homepage for their 4x800 WR?
Anyway, Torrence tweeted:
"I may not have hit my main goal this yr (World Indoors), but you know I wasnt gonna finish this season w/out a fight. #nevergiveup"
https://twitter.com/David_Torrence/status/4402195614353408004x800 WR, under the old 2K record, and now the 1K record. too bad he didn't make worlds, but a nice indoors campaign nonetheless! congrats David!
Way to go Torrence- good to see you tearing it up!
How many other people own two American records right now?

And he's still coaching himself?! How many people can say they've coached themselves to a WR & AR?

Oh, I say that all the time. I'm lying, of course, but I still can say it.
I hear he is self coached, but getting some help from Cook still.
Great effort!
