So I have been fortunate to get a Boston number recently, but not by qualifying. I did run a 3:04 last Sept but didn't make the final cut due to the demand. I had been training to run a May marathon so began ramping up to 50/week over the past month. Yesterday, I ran a 1:25 half.
I want to run a qualifier so would like some suggestions for a crash plan. So far my longest run has been 1:45. It is only from now until the end of Feb that I have to work with. Only caveat, is a cranky hamstring which has put me on the DL in the past, including after my 3:04. It got tight yesterday but I planned on easy runs for a few days to calm it down.
I know some of you have studied approaches so would welcome advice.
BTW, I live in Boston, so after last year, and the emotion going into this year, I am pretty pumped.
