Nice misleading headline ignoramus. You forgot to mention the various legal authorities the police need before they can do various things related to social networking, email etc. such as Grand Jury subpoenas, and Judicial Approved search warrants. You may have an ax to grind with law enforcement, but at least don't post misleading headlines. Tell the truth.

wrong. cops do not need permission to look at you facebook page. however, if you page is on private, all they have to do is simply make a 10 second phone call to the police chief for a warrant, then facebook is required to let the cop read all of you personal messages and photos and everything else. we are living in a police state and pigs are nose murderous dweebs.
Why would you trust personal communications with a company like Facebook? Why would you write something of the utmost importance via email? What makes you think your posts on LetsRun are not being monitored? Who cares if they are? Do you know how many users Facebook has? If you ask me, the use of drones, increased airport security, loss of journalist's rights, etc are of far more importance than whether or not the FBI can read about how I banged my friend's sister in the cabin his parents own while they were out buying beer.

Police chiefs can't issue warrants. Also, you don't read pictures, you view them.
