correct. He ran a 47.4 Relay leg of a 4x400m in High School. I don't know what leg he ran (if he was first leg...mother of god..), but I'd say he could of ran 48-mid most likely.

I guess it will probably average out to somewhere between 4:10 and 4:20 for older generations and between 4:05 and 4:10 for newer generations (with HS coaches getting better recently).
For USA sub 4:00 milers, 25% ran 4:09 or better in high school (or equivalent 4:07.55 for 1600). 50% ran under 4:13 (or 4:11.53 for 1600).

CORRECTION (above included some fast 1500m guys that didn't break 4:00)
