WTF?
it snows
snow melts during the day
snow freezes at night
now the entire city is covered in a sheet of ice
no one has snow ties or chains
city doesn't have enough trucks (er.. they didn't used to. now they say they do)
city doesn't have any salt
5 million people trying to get around a city with terrible public transportation
drivers in atl don't know how to drive on snow or ice
pipes burst, power goes out
chaos ensues
source: lived in atl for a long time
People disrespected the possibility of bad weather, and went about their business like idiots, getting stranded. Atlanta must be the anti-DC. That city shuts down for the threat of flurries.
I live north of Atlanta and, obviously, very few people were prepared. Although it was a couple inches, it was the most snow I've ever seen firsthand in my life.
It was great running weather, though. Roads were so empty it made it feel like I was the last survivor after an apocalypse.

Yep, lived there and a little outside for a big chunk of my life.
Silly to invest in snow or ice when something like this happens maybe every 10 years.
