Dear runners,
I'm a Dutch guy, 19 years old and I wondered if somebody would comment on my training program. I'm running for 4 years now
This is a normal winter training week
monday: 60 min on grass easy pace (9:00-8:30/mile) of which 15 min barefoot+5x50m barefoot strides
tuesday: long intervals, in total 6k tempo at anaerobic treshold (4x1500 or 6x1000 etc) with 200m jog in between
wednesday: 60min easy pace (big part asphalt)
thursday: short intervals 4-5k tempo 3000-5000m time (2x6x400 or 20x200 etc) with 100m jog in between
friday: rest
saturday: 90 min long run, easy pace, sanydy or forest paths.
sunday: 70 min easy (big part asphalt)
total mileage/week: 45
I've never run more than 51 miles in one week
Tuesday and Thursday we dow some running drills. One time/week I do a core stability session.
Am I training a little bit correct? You Americans seem to train much harder at the age of 19. Should I do more mileage or more high tempo miles?
My PB's:
800-1:59
1500:4:01
5000: 15:30
P.S. Apologies if my language is not that good
