You are right.
Now go and get me a hogshead of water and a hundredweight of bread, please. Oh and place them on that square chain yonder.
Here's Barshim doing a training jump:

7' what?
flo'da boy, have you ever seen highjumpqueen jump? It is insane!
Highjumpqueen is presently attempting 6'4 (she is only 5'4) at the drake relays, after having already secured the win
And I found this interview with Barshim, in which he says that the level of competition in the high jump right now is unprecedented, and that he expects that the world record could fall at any time during the coming outdoor season
is there any video? This would be cool to see.

No video yet but when/if it comes up I will post it!
Here is a short news broadcast on the Hyvee High Jump from a few days ago. The Drake relays have really been nailing it, I love this so much it hurts

Derek Droiun, Inika McPherson, and Mr. Erik Kynard were among the competitors at the wonderful event
DEREK DROUIN 2.40 AT DRAKE
WHAAAAAAAAA
That would be 7'10 (just trying to avoid the metric/English argument over at the Rutherford thread...)
Erik Kynard (who won the exhibition in the grocery store) came second with a jump of 2.35. Jesse Williams was a several places back with a jump of 2.25
That would 7'10 to avoid any confusion...

Sorry for the double post
Here is a video of Drouin's jump

What did I tell you - this guy is a player.
If he can stay healthy, with Barshim, Kynard, Bondarenko and Ukhov - an assualt on 2.45 this summer WILL see the WR go down, or certainly by next year at the latest. While 2.40 is still a long way from 2.45, with so many guys knocking on the door one or two are bound to get it, with Bondareranko being the best bet if healthy.
^completely agreed
I was looking for videos of all top ten performers when I found these videos which show a lot of great jumps (progressing the videos as the height is raised)
Currently 4 jumpers over 2.35 (Ukhov, Barshim, Kynard, and Drouin), with both Drouin and Kynard having made 2.37! Something's brewing!
Drouin, Kynard, and Barshim over 2.37 (Drouin leading on attempts), Ukhov passes on the height. On to 2.39.
Nobody is clearing 8ft this year, boring....
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
