I am a mid foot striker but when I get down to 6 min. mile pace I become a heel striker. How can I stay a mid foot striker at faster speeds?

???
I would have to assume based on lack of presented evidence that you are probably over-striding to increase your pace. Try taking shorter strides, but at a faster pace. I'm a believer in the 180 steps per minute philosophy as a baseline, so work out from there. If you shorten your stride length to the point that you aren't over-extended and can still plant mid-foot, you should be good to go.
Also try to tuck your hips under you, in a posterior pelvic tilt (like thrusting your hips forward). It will give your legs more range of motion to work with. If you butt is stuck out behind you, you limit hip flexion and will lean towards that over-extension.
Thanks so much.
