For anyone who has laughed out loud at a ridiculous Runner's World article, or choked on their coffee at Barns and Noble while perusing training advice and Chi running books. Share your gems with us:
Here is mine, from the "Complete Runner's Day-by-Day Log"
"Kenyan Runner Samuel Wanjiru broke the World Record at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing by nearly three minutes- despite arriving woefully unprepared...At only five-feet-four, he had neither the body frame nor the form that sets elite marathoners apart. It drove coaches, sports physiologists, and commentators mad. No one could explain his talent...But he also had a drinking problem. And in 2011, he fell from the balcony of his home in Kenya, which the police ruled as a suicide. The fame and money had overwhelmed his life. It's a cautionary tale to be sure."
To whom is Sammy's tale cautionary? Are we to presume that among the writer's readership are those which fame and money will presently devour?
I will admit, though, that Sammy had a strange running form.
