Are these numbers ridiculous?
My Father In Law is paying $25k a year for personal coaching. He is worth a ton of money but my wife says that he is wasting his money. I agree that it is not rocket science to create a schedule for a 3:15 marathoner.
I believe that he does it just so he can brag that he is being coached by an Olympic level coach.
I am told that he coaches 6 others at this same price.
Are these common numbers for an Olympic level coach to work with the public?
I am interested in expanding your question further...What makes someone an Olypmic leve coach? Have they coached Olypmic medalists, Olympic Trials competitors or are they coaching individuals who "aspire" to reach that level? The fact is, $25k a year is ridiculous. It is not rocket science, as you say, but it does take some careful considerations, but I was able to run 3:30ish basically winging it. I would be more than willing to put together a training plan for someone to follow for $25k a year.
