Why is Asics using one shoe, the Gel Forte, to replace two models, the Evolution 6 and Foundation 10?
Has anyone tried the Forte? Thoughts?

Bump.
Where have you been all year? Both the Evolution and Foundation are coming back this January. Don't fret.
Seriously, they are both coming back? That would seriously make my day. I tried searching to see if this is true. Any more info on this?
Foundation is returning or has returned but not the Evolution, unless something recently changed.
I don't get it. Why is the Asics Gel Foundation 8 available on Asics USA?

The Asics Gel Foundation 10 was available for a while. Was it discontinued in favor of a previous version? This would be really odd if it was the case.
Also, anybody try the Asics Gel Fortify?
I was big fan of the Foundation, tried the Forte and did not like it nearly as much. Kind of curious how the Fortify differs from the Forte.
Bump.
The Foundation 8 has a great fit for me. I like that it is offered in a 4e width.
I was happy to see that it returned and hope it will not be discontinued again.
I liked the Evolution also but when it was discontinued it never returned.
Just got the Saucony Stabil CS3. They are a great alternative. Very light weight for a MC shoe too.
How is the width in the Stabil?
I tried a Stabil shoe about 15 years ago but they were not wide enough for me.
I tried them several years ago as well and found the same thing - the base of the shoe was too narrow. However, the shoe recently went through a major update and the base was widened by 12 mm.

I just got them the other day. So far, they seem great. As noted above, the base is much wider, the upper fits snugly though. I generally wear size 9 1/2 or 10 since I like a good snug fit. The 10s in the Stabil fit a little more like a 9 1/2 in Asics I guess.
I did not think that many runners used motion control shoes. Do you find they inhibit your stride? I am a moderate pronator, and have probably tried just about every type of shoe. The fit is critical for me, too, as many shoes pinch me on the outside (lateral) part of my midfoot.
And, now the Forte has been discontinued. Anyone know its replacement or a shoe similar to it? Thx.
To you shoe experts...bump.
The Stabil appears promising based on the video.
I will give it a try.
Nothing wrong with a snug fit as long as it doesn't cause blisters.
