Yes, there are absolutely no ties between Nike and the University of Oregon. How stupid to associate the two.

From NOP website:
"[Salazar] spearheaded a complete resuscitation of American distance running"
So like bringing back running from the dead pretty much

I never said that. I said that logically the word Oregon in the "Nike Oregon Project" means that NOP is in the state of Oregon, and is not a reference to the University of Oregon. NOP is a pro running group in Portland/Beaverton, Oregon, not in Eugene, and it's not a project of the University of Oregon.
IDK whether the NOP logo is supposed to be University of Oregon duck wings or is a laurel wreath. People have given reasons why it could be either one.

I know, I was just being a dick. No harm, no foul. But why would it be a laurel wreath? They don't do laurel wreaths at the Olympics. They might have in the ancient past, but not in modern day.
Sorry, maybe it means skullduck.
Logo's dont always have to 'mean' something. Prob just a design some pro came up with. Move on.
It really doesn't mean anything. I remember when the logo itself came out was when (and I know this sounds dumb so stay with me) Halo 3 was the game to play, pretty sure it was supposed to be the last one made. You could come up with all sorts of logos & custom stuff for your player, and you could literally make the NOP logo using the game. Not sure they thought it would stay.
Remember, when the group first started, we're talking about a Galen Rupp that people weren't sure could take the next step, and a Mo Farah who had muddled around in a few finals with a loping stride and all sorts of high socks and two-toned shoes. I don't think they put too much thought into it and just got to work, but hey, I could be wrong.
Pretty sure Centro was/is a big Halo guy.
Centro was like 6 when the logo came out, wasn't he?
Man, that is a weed leaf, man. They smoke so much weed at the NOP and everything.
You can't spell Oregon Project with out EPO.
I'm not following you. I never played Halo. Are you saying the skull with duck wings/laurel wreath is in Halo? Is it somebody's skull from the game?

Based on this old thread, the logo came out in 2011, so Centro was not 6.
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=3967553That thread called it an "olive victory wreath icon with ninja/pirate skull" which is yet another way of looking at it.

I might be off on the game & reasoning, but I'll show you what my reasoning.

That massive-ego of Salazar is showing. Yup, with Salazar American distance running would have died right after the 14th minute ... LOL
*without*
I bet it's a death eater mask from Harry Potter.
When the NOP logo came out the Harry Potter movies were big and I bet they were fans of the death eaters or maybe just their look.
My daughter's soccer cleats have a picture of Alberto's thyroid on them.

remember that there have been two Alberto death moments. the first was in his prime, when he nearly ran himself to death, was given last rites, etc.
The second was the heart attack
so the meaning of the skull suggests a never quit, never die attitude as much as it suggests the heart attack.
Actually the first moment according to "14 Minutes" is when his brother just missed shooting him with an arrow when they were kids. I seem to remember several others are also listed. Dude is like a cat.
I thought they were lobster claws this whole time.
