Hilarious! Classic Wetmore.

I can't believe he backed down like that. Why would he change up his plans just because of what the guy writing the email said???

this is one of those times when one side thinks "it's absolutely hilaaaaarious" because of either naivety or a defense mechanism to try to turn the situation into something else.

it's like the kid in h.s. getting picked on and laughing along with the people doing the bullying, trying to brush it off.

this is far far from an instant classic. while reading it, i was embarrassed for you. wetmore was kind of a douche, and you put up with it and then praised it on your site as some "instant classic". it may have been classic but not for the reasons you say.

I think that Wetmore's response was appropriate given the phrasing of the questions. Take out his responses and read the questions alone. If I were a coach, I would be pretty pissed with whoever gave me that. His options for response were either be very defensive, or try to be sarcastic. He went with the latter.

Holy hell stop taking yourself so seriously

E-mail interviews are often quite awkward anyway.

Wetmore clearly isn't interested in letting out any useful information.

I'm not sure why this is a worthy quote. I know nothing about Wetmore but this just seems to illustrate that running is meaningless and unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

You either can't read or you're way too sensitive.

Tone can often be lost in email.

It's possible he misinterpreted the tone of the first question but I dont think so. Before putting it up, I talked to a few people who know Wetmore pretty well and they just all thought he was trying to be funny. One guy said, "I take this as a sign he's feeling good. I wish I could bet on the meet."

I've always thought most interviews were kind of beside the point and he was getting at that a little bit and answering everything very literally.

No need to be a douche. Everyone has their own opinion. I'm glad you've decided that everyone else's on this thread is wrong, but do us a favor and don't preach. You don't need to post 6x on a thread saying the exact same thing.
