WEBBGATE 2010 NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!!
A few years ago there was a guy writing as a Brit attending Notre Dame. He wrote funny bits about partying, training and scoring. Someone pointed out that he was copying a more established author's style but the thread readers didn't seem to mind because he was so funny.
I ran a Message Board search but honestly I don't recall any exact phrases except the use of a word that I think was "roish".
Anyone?
I should have done this years ago...my 13:54 was handtimed, and I was actually wearing sketchers racing flats.

In The Spirit Of Charity...
As I walked down the busy sidewalk, knowing I was late for an important
interview, my eye fell upon one of those unfortunate, homeless vagabonds
that are found in every city these days.
Wearing what can only be describes as rags, carrying every worldly
possession in two plastic bags, my heart was touched by this persons condition.
Some people turned to stare. Others quickly looked away as if the sight would
somehow contaminate them.
Recalling some long ago Sunday School admonition to "care for the sick,
feed the hungry and clothe the naked," I was moved by some powerful inner
urge to reach out to this unfortunate person.
Yes, where some people saw only rags, I saw a hidden beauty.
A small voice inside my head called out,
"Reach out, reach out!"
So I did..........

The once a month someone post about Komens 7:20. Which always turns into a thread full of trolls, anger and pure hate.

You're right--this is a classic that deserves recognition...

The crazy thing was that the Letsrun sleuths dissected his websites and numerous manifestos to find gems about how he told people they can improve their eyesight, sex lives, bowel movements, etc.
Can't believe no one's mentioned the "Real Man" thing yet.

D3 girls training hard and drinking hard
Galen Rupp will NEVER break 13/Win Olympic medal/break 2 mile record
There was also a guy on here who would post his story about beating achilles tendinitis, and it was the WORST advice I'd ever seen. I think he talked about sprinting through white hot pain or something like that.

That, my friend, is letsrun's original troll. Old timers will remember him. Fortunately he was driven out of here.
Didn't read every post, did anyone mention compression socks yet?
The posers who act like road races pay writers and camera operators when I have never paid for a race report, video stream, or finish picture in over 30 years.
I remember an awesome hypothetical story about Alan Webb first going to Salazar. Salazar wanted him to do the 30/40 workout with Galen and he eventually quit to go eat a big mac. I've searched for the thread but I can't find it, unfortunately. If anyone else remembers it please let me know.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
