I appreciate the advice, agip. But Apple has been around awhile and they have a large fan base. Obviously I think they'll be good for some time. We'll see.

Igy, the memory is still functioning. I haven't forgotten what you wrote on the previous page. No need to repeat.
Big,
OK. The following is not a comment on your purchase.
Three years ago the stock was at $55, so for one to consider this type of downside to be remote, think again. The cycle low for the stock was $11 March of 2009. Earnings compression for high growth stocks is relatively common. CSCO traded at a high of $82 in March of 2000, today $28.

I thought you were smarter than that. Look at the overall picture instead of cherry picking data. Try this for AAPL (1st of each month)...
4/09: $16
4/10: $34
4/11: $46
4/12: $77
4/13: $59
4/14: $81
4/15: $122
4/16: $104
So your "downside" was still almost double what it had been 3 years before and nearly 4x what it had been 4 years prior. Oh, and that $59 doubled in 2 years.
As for "the cycle low was $11 March 2009" I could post another set of numbers showing much the same thing, but I think you get the picture.
C'mon man.
Big,
I admit I am just not as smart as you.
March 2009 low $11.76, April 2013 low $55.01.
Good luck on your trade.

Igy has never been one to let the facts get in the way of a good lie.
Sally V,
Please point out the lie.

Sally V has never let the facts get in the way of being a Dope.
"O'Shaughnessy Growth Fund performance: YTD -1.41%, 1 Year -9.14%, 10 year -3.57%."
Deny, or deflect?
Look for yourself deny or deflect? You are a jerk:
agip,
Here is the fund I came up with when I did a Google search:
http://quote.morningstar.ca/qu...F0CAN05M0I
®ion=can&culture=en-CA
Anyway, as you can see in all the O'Shaughnessy symbols you quoted the one year are not so good: -6.33 (HFCGX), -6.74 (HFMDX), -5.98 (HFLGX) and -2.73 (HFCVX).
The point is not to throw stones at O'Shaughnessy or his strategies, but to illustrate there is a time and place for these things.
In a riptide you swim perpendicular to the flow. In cross country you hold your position on the hill and pick-up the pace on the downhill.

Deflect it is.
Sally,
As usual, not worth responding to your sorry self.
Igy
You just did.
Sally,
How is CHK, UNP and SPLS working out?
Igy
Are you completely incapable of looking those up by yourself, liar?
Must have struck a nerve, Dope.
You mean you must be an idiot. Why would you ask me about those stocks?
Liar.
You're the liar who said I wasn't worth responding to. I'm betting you can't let this go. Crickets chirping.....
Seriously? Apple has about $230 billion in cash and growing with very little debt. The only real criticism is that they don't do anything with it. The risk of Apple going bankrupt is like saying a hermit who lives in some gated mansion in Portland OR will be a victim of Chicago gang violence. Also, if your favorite candidate Hillary gets elected as you believe she will, I can almost guarantee she will sign legislation to repatriate cash back to the U.S. with little or no tax. That is going to create a huge dividend windfall for Apple Inc. Some other thoughts, While CEO Cook may not be the visionary Jobs was. There is a reason he got his job. He runs Apple's operations extremely efficiently. While it doesn't seem like Apple is coming out with groundbreaking products and they are going the way of a value stock, it doesn't mean their isn't an upside risk that profitable new products will come out. Apple TV and Apple Pay I'm pretty sure will have some success. Something big could happen with Apple car. Its very plausible Apple could develop the "brains" of an autonomous vehicle, then buy some cheap automaker like Fiat for a few billion to acquire their expertise in mass producing vehicles. Apple could carve a niche in home building too. In other words, you are saying Apple is at some risk of going bankrupt. GOI says it could go to $50. Those are risks you have to face up to. But by the same token there is also the risk that Apple could go to $150 or higher while your money is invested somewhere else. So $90 seems like a really good entry point.

the problem with buying apple low is that it is a tech company and therefore could literally be out of business in 10 years. They all can.
