Agip once again you have missed the point entirely—and it’s not because of any inarticulation on my part. The racialization of identity, to the exclusion of other dimensions thereof, is independent of social racial composition. The popular conception is identity politics, which is an imprecise term.
In point of fact I grew up in Toronto, the world’s largest refugee camp—including my entire family. European, Caribbean, Indian, Asian, British, African, Chinese/Thai, Japanese, Aussi, Iranian, whatever. It was an absolute, total, complete mix. The “diversity” in the US is nothing compared to how I grew up. Nothing.
You have shown that you are conditioned, entirely within the system. You have done nothing other than express the same conditioned attitude that was reinforced in the NPR segments I heard.
If you can’t see this, we should probably stick to stock talk.
