This was great. I am not sure that anyone running now dares to try this. Ngugi did ot in 1992, Komen in 1997 and Bekele in 08. It is very gutsy. Now there are up to 8 guys in the field that can go sub 13 or sub 27 on a given day. Maybe it's more risky. I thought for a moment that Koech would do it but he came back after a lap or two.

Haile made a mistake that day and could have won the race if he had not underestimated his opponent. I don't Mo would have done that. He was mentally prepared for this situation to happen and even expected it. He was not going to let someone go like that.
