maybe if "soul man" wasn't tired from attempting that silly double he wouldn't have been tired and lost concentration allowing the trip to happen.
centro is the real deal. he's the youngest bronze at WCs (BBC) and this year going for gold.

Just happy that the one USA runner to advance was also the only American-born 1500 man representing our country. If Centro is fortunate enough to medal in the final, it's a pretty safe bet he won't be waving the flags of Mexico or Sudan.
For the record, I am not particularly a fan of Centro's. But it's hard not to be impressed with his potential.
Got to hand it to the Norwegian, does what he has to do.
Leo, Leo...*why* did you get so far back in that hobbyjogger race? Really feel bad for you..
Lomong too, this is the 2nd time he has been dusted in a kcikers race. I though he was going to medal in the 5000 last year...guy with good speed in a slow race?...whats the deal?

Dude is leaving with a medal, had nothing to lose by going for the double. Surely you don't think he had a better chance in the 1500 than the 8?
Well, actually it does win medals, witness Centro's bronze from 2011. However, I'm sorry that you take such glee in your own expectation how someone might fail, and that others might sympathize with him. But on the most simple level--Centro ran with great poise and confidence, willing to stay in last, and stay out of trouble (unlike your"dude" "with nuts"), and then beautifully float to the front. Anyone who has any knowledge of the sport realizes it was a tremendous run. Period.

lol @ the Centro fanboys. He will get murdered in the finals and go home devastated. Just like in London.
Keep talking about how "smooth" and "relaxed" he looked though. Too bad that shit doesn't win medals.
And it sucks that Soul Man got tripped up and is out. Only dude with big enough nuts to try the double.
Let's not talk about "potential". Let's not forget he wins or at least performs well at all the big races. NCAA champ, USATF champ. Medalist at Daegu....
Centro just jogged a 3:35.90. He is primed to medal.

The double is silly?
Tell that to Seb Coe or Peter Snell.
Doubles take NUTS. We have too many "pure 800 meter" and "pure 1500 meter" pansies in the game today.
And Centro can "go for gold" all he wants. It ain't gonna happen.

You seem to fail to comprehend one simple fact.
Centro is THE MAN.
Yes, the double is silly when you can't make the final. I mean, its great to make it to the semi's, sure it is a great workout and great exposure for kid from Djibouti but he just plain didn't make the final like Centro did.
Coe and Snell did make finals, so for them, doubles weren't silly. But clearly, Souleiman was tired, he got 2nd to last in a time that at least 15 Americans have run faster than this year. 2013 is much more competitive than the 80s and 90s.
Centro's positive attitude, seen in the Flotrack NOP series, is gonna help him get to the medal stand again.
You fanboys are ridiculous. I'll bump this thread after he gets obliterated in the final.

I really hope you are a high schooler. Because it's kind of pathetic that an adult would waste his time bashing a legit American medal threat. Grow up.
I really want to watch the race again to see what happened to Leo. Seems like he couldn't get comfortable -- trying to pass meekly from lane four right before the second-to-last turn, then going wide again too early on the last turn.
Seems like his head wasn't in it. There's no way his position should have come as a surprise. He chose to run in the back of a slow pack, but he still seemed to have no clear plan to move to the front. Maybe the pace heated up too soon and caught him off guard? If so, that's bad planning. And he should have had a fallback . . . namely to tuck in, stay cool (like Centro did), and move on the final straight.
I can't remember the last time Leo looked so bad in a championship race.
Just so you don't claim getting silver is "obliterated", what are you predicting for him?

Wouldn't that be sweet redemption if you could come back Sunday morning and anonymously taunt other faceless posters about how you knew that Centro sucked and relaxed running is meaningless?
There is no way Centro gets obliterated. He knows what he is doing when it comes to racing, and would not be surprised by any moves in a final. At worst, he mis-times his push to the finish, and is just outside the medals. Look at his history before you make inane comments.

Canada in the Final, awesome! Go Nate B.
wasnt able to keep it together? He took a redshirt year to get ready for Worlds. Do some research before you get on here and try to blast a guy who just made the finals
