Has Trafeh ever finished a marathon?
2:11:41 in Fukuoka this past December.
Looks like the team just got a little bit 'cleaner'
Wow and right after the IAAF announced its beefed up testing program
What is his reason for dropping out ? I always thought that the guy seemed a little suspicious and him dropping out of an event where they will have the most advanced drug testing that we've seen in years doesn't help.
He just participated and won the USA Half Marathon Championship where drug testing was conducted. The real answer is he got a decent fall marathon offer.
Probably a decision based on money, and possibly drug testing.
MoPO - Probably has to go back to Morocco for another cycle of meds before a fall marathon.
Possibly due to an injury sustained during the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta. Saw him walking at around mile 2.
im, what, like the 12th poster and the first to congratulate tapia?
it's great to see a 2nd or 3rd tier guy get such a great opportunity. something like this is obviously amazing for daniel but also positive for guys in the 2:15 range. they're comfortably in the olympic trials range but still far from the highest level. these are the guys truly in "no mans land." hopefully this motivates the dozens of guys in a similar boat
in same race, just futher back wrote:

Awww once again a great letsrun board conspiracy theory about Mo Trafeh thwarted by a logical and factual explanation.
Congrats to Daniel Tapia! Represent for the Condors and Panthers in Moscow!
Congrats Danny! Great to see nice guys that aren't stars early on work their way up little by little and be rewarded with great long term development...
Trafeh is so certainly using.
Is Tapia the guy who did so well in Boston this year? Came in around 9th IIRC.
I think its a shame they don't send 5 athletes to the WC, as that is the number allowed to compete in each team. Teams such as Japan are sending 5 athletes. Even if the top American guys choose to miss the WC, America still has many 2:13-15 guys who would love to run for there nation.
Trafeh supposedly has a hamstring injury.
Meb, Abdi, and Hall were not eligible for the world championships, since none of them completed a marathon during the qualifying period.
Wow Unbelievable wrote:

^^that's actually pretty sad. We have professional and olympic marathoners who don't finish marathons.
Let's be clear.... those monkey's at USATF screwed the pooch again.
Only declared three guys and gals when they could have taken five. And then with a suspicious drop three weeks out, they call a guy up who likely hasn't prepared for a marathon.
This is a genius plan to increase our medal count! Hamstring your squad by entering fewer athletes and then scramble at the last minute to find a marathon replacement.
What the F is going on in Indy?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
