Hey guys. I'm a high school runner, doing usual summer training.
Ab work is included in my schedule 3 times a week, ( i work out twice a week and do it then along with another day).
I currently can plank for about 3 minutes and can side plank for about 2 minutes.
I'm just wondering about how long I should work up to. I've heard 5 minutes is a nice endurance goal, but I'd like to hear what you think. Any other ab work that is good for running? (I'm trying windshield wipers tomorrow)
Before spring track I was planking for 45 seconds with 25lb plates on my back. I'm sure that's not very necessary, but could it be? Most of my weight training is very heavy, and I thought that perhaps my ab work could be that too.
