This is when Letsrun is great -- when reps who know what they're talking about come on to speak to people. Thanks for offering to answer questions.
I've been running in the Ronins for a few years now as an everyday shoe (along with the Universes). I've grown pretty comfortable with that shoe. What will be my best bet for a replacement within Mizuno, and how will it compare? Particularly interested in weight -- definitely wouldn't want to go heavier, wouldn't mind going lighter. Any recommendations?
Hey Jossi,
Thanks for the positive response, this could be cool to get feedback, positive or constructive!
I dig the Ronin as well, it's been my tempo shoe and I race half/full distance in them (5k-10k I'm either in the Universe or Ekiden).
In Jan 2014, we will introduce Wave Hitogami, which will basically do the same for the Ronin/Musha as the Sayonara has done for the Elixir/Precision.
That being said, the Hitogami looks to be about 1/4 ounce heavier than the Ronin, slightly lighter than the Precision.
Holding the 2 shoes, perceived weight is exactly the same.. but I'm a numbers guy too... just knowing it's heavier bummed me out, but it's super well balanced and I hope when it comes out you at least give it a shot. It absolutely will ride better than Ronin, as the U4iC midsole compound is super responsive.
Hope that helped a bit..
