redshirted.
How is a true freshman different than a freshman?
Does a true freshman run the full mile and a freshman the mile?

True freshman hasn't redshirted and has gone straight to college after finishing high school.
A regular freshman could be someone who's redshirted or somone older than the regular age of 18 or 19.

That stuff is irrelevant. How long has he been training? That's what matters.
who else does tulsa have in line of 1500/mile guys? with o'hare, that makes a potentially great dmr!
There was a thread on this guy 3 or 4 days ago as he broke Kevin Sullivan's Canadian jr record:

He is 19 and hasn't redshirted.

I added the link to the initial messageboard thread at the top.

Actually it's not at all. You would make a horrible scientist (amd coach) if you're incapable of understanding multiple variables. Age isn't the sole variable and neither is years of training. They all matter.

How is a freshman who redshirted when he was 18 not a "true" freshman but a Canadian who was still in high school when he was 18 is? They're both still 19 when they run as freshmen.
Is nobody else blown away by this!? That is an incredibly fast time and you little weiners are arguing about freshman status!?
kid caught a fast race good for him and good progression. Lets see him do it through prelims and finals next year.

Let me break this down for you...
Freshman who redshirted when he was 18: Not allowed to redshirt again.
Canadian who was still in high school when he was 18: Allowed to redshirt in the future.
Do you need me to go over this again?
